PAST is a NPO organisation dedicated to understanding our shared roots in Africa. The organisation puts forward that by learning about our more ancient connections to other branches on the tree of life, we can find unity among ourselves, and resolve to conserve nature.

Their vision is to inspire scientific curiosity and appreciation for our shared heritage in Africa’s youth. The organisation supports education, research and public understanding of the sciences related to our origins.

We were commissioned to create a corporate video that showcases the work they do and the science behind it.

During a fascinating few days shooting at Sterkfontein Caves and the vault at Wits University, we gathered material that gets to the heart of PAST: what is the organisation about? What are they are trying to achieve with their ‘All From One’ campaign? How important are our African origins? Ultimately the video shows PAST’s role in creating a sense of appreciation of our diversity.
